To best resolve your complaint, please note the following options for making a complaint.
- If you wish to make a complaint about the technical and safety standard of the work carried out by a Registered Gas Installer (RGI) or if you have not been issued a Declaration of Conformance Certificate and the RGI is refusing to do so, please submit a complaint by completing the complaint form below. The form is to be completed in respect of any complaint concerning the standard of workmanship with regards to safety of a Registered Gas Installer (RGI). Alternatively you can print the Complaints Form and send it to us by post, fax or as an attachment to an email.
- If you wish to make a complaint about the customer service you have received from the RGI scheme or regarding the operation of the RGI scheme, please email gascomplaints@rgi.ie with “Customer Service Complaint” in the subject line.
- If you are a Registered Gas Installer (RGI) and you wish to make a regulatory complaint, please complete the form here.
- If your complaint relates to gas works undertaken by a person other than an RGI/a person has described themselves as an RGI without being registered, you can report alleged illegal gas works.

Complaints against Registered Gas Installers are dealt with according to the Complaints Procedure.
The RGI scheme is primarily concerned with technical gas standards and gas safety (i.e. compliance with the National Standard for Domestic Gas Installations (IS813) published by the National
Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) .
The RGI scheme does not have a role in disputes of a commercial nature.
