Registration in the RGII scheme is progressing well with over 2400 Gas Installers and 460 Gas Companies having applied for registration so far. All installers who are meeting the registration criteria(*) have received a letter confirming the approval of their registration in the relevant membership category (Full, Trainee or Provisional) and will receive the full registration pack (**) providing they have paid the half annual subscription fee for 2009, which is €100 for Full members, €62.50 for Trainees and €150 for Provisional members. The company half annual subscription fee is €37.50.
To date a substantial number of Installers and Companies have not paid their subscription fees. A reminder letter has been sent stressing the importance of paying the fees. Please note that unless payment is received by 26 June, the registration is not complete and all those Installers and Companies concerned will not be able to carry out any gas works post 26 June.
The Declaration of Conformance Certificates will be ready for purchase as from Wed 17 June. There are four types related to the nature of work and membership category:
- Cert No 1 – F: New installations for RGII Full members who were also members of the former BGE scheme
- Cert No 1 – P: New installations for Provisional members and for RGII Full members who were not members of the former BGE scheme
- Cert No 2: Boiler replacement
- Cert No 3: Appliance Fits, Servicing, Repair/Safety Check (not for boiler replacement)
