RGII Director Election

RGII is seeking nominations from Registered Gas Installer Members for election of the nominated RGI director position on the RGII Board. The election will be conducted by postal ballot of Registered Gas Installer Members. For company members, a director or Registered Gas Installer employee of the company may be nominated, however only RGIs are balloted. The results of the election will be approved at an RGII Board meeting.

Nomination forms will be posted next week (19th July) to each RGI and RGI company, and they must be returned by close of business on 30th July 2021 to RSM Ireland, Trinity House, Charlestown Road, Ranelagh, Dublin 6.

A short profile of the candidate’s relevant registered gas industry experience should be included on the Nomination Form (in a maximum of 50 words).

Candidates must be proposed and seconded by at least two (2) RGI Members. Candidates are not permitted to propose or second themselves. When nominations have been received a postal ballot will take place August 2021.

Directors have legal duties and obligations imposed by the Companies Act 2014, other statutes and at common law. Please refer to COMPANIES ACT 2014 – AN OVERVIEW OF THE DIRECTORS DUTIES which gives particulars of the duties set out in Section 228 of the Act. Potential candidates should familiarize themselves with these requirements.

All candidates must retain RGII membership / company membership for the duration of the directorship.

The composition of RGII’s Board of Directors is subject to the approval of the Commission for Regulation of Utilities.
